How can I reduce XP settings safely?

Over several years using XP Home, I have built up four settings
folders...Admin, Admin.CC106...(machine address), All Users, and Jim. Some
of these have duplicate files and/or shortcuts. I would like to reduce and
streamline these, as I'm the only user and don't see much need for so much
duplication. But I don't want to eliminate any folder/file that will affect
operation. What's the safest way to approach this?

As XP HE has only been out for two years "several" is a
bit of an exageration. Delete any accounts you don't use
and their settings and files will also disappear with no
adverse affects to your settings. There is always a
default anyway. Have fun.

Right. But, All Users and Admin are undeletable [i.e., deletable through
User Accounts], yes?

You should not try to delete either - though you could 'prune' All Users
perhaps.

All USers is for communal items available to all users - for example the
Start - All Programs that you see is derived from the Start Menu folder
of this added to your personal one.

Administrator is the reserve account for emergency use. Keep it - you
may be in real need of it sometime
