How can I mirror Hard Drives

I have two hard drives in my system, and I need the exact
data on both of them. At the end of every day I need to
copy over only the files that were changed, on that day.
That way if one Hard Drive crashes, we can simply switch
it to the second hard drive, and go again. Is there any
way to do this?

I am running Windows 2000 Professional, and the backup
with this Operating System, is too limited.

Get a RAID 0/1 IDE controller (http://www.jdr.com/)

Or go SCSI and get a true RAID controller.

You can mirror a hard disk by doing the following but
remember disk mirroring is ONLY useful if the first hard
disk fails. Once you have a disk mirror set, data
corruption on the first disk will be mirrored to the
second.

I might not have the exact wording right as I am recalling
this task from memory:

1. right click my computer and choose Manage
2. beneath storage open disk management
3. on the bottom half of the window right click on each
hard disk and choose upgrade to dynamic disk
4. restart the system
5. return to disk management and right click the first
hard disk partition and choose create mirror.
6. do this for each partition you want to mirror.

If memory serves me correct Disk mirroing is not availible under Win2k
Professional only Win2k Server. You might be able to get a Raid Controller
that will allow mirroring via hardware. Under a Mirrored Set there will be
no need to copy the data thats changed at the end of the day it is all done
on the fly. So if a file is accidently deleted it will be deleted on the
second drive as well.

Ah, yes, you CAN mirror this way. BUT. First you must undergo initiation
into DDUC (no relation to Donald), the "Dynamic Disk Users Club".

Novitiates can be recognized by their plaintive cries "Holy shit! I've
lost all my programs and data. What do I do now?"

Windows 2000 Professional does not support software disk mirroring or RAID-5
fault tolerant sets.

You will need to get a raid controller as suggested by David to implement
mirroring.
