How do you cause Windows Explorer to open automatically when inserting a
flash card via PCMCIA adapter or USB card reader? My Toshiba laptop used
to do this but not any more. Using XP Home SP1. Thanks for the help.

Also, it should pop up a "Perform this Action" when inserting the jump
drive. Just scroll down to the bottom & select "Open Files in Windows
Explorer" and check "always perform selected action." So from then on
when it is inserted it will pop up in windows explorer.

Thanks. I agree, it should and it used to. Problem is, now
nothing happens when I plug in.

Thanks. I tried running it, but it won't run. Warning says it is not a
valid Win32 app.

I downloaded the app from another site and was able to run it. I
verified that Autoplay is checked for removable drives.

Hello, pjruiz
What happens when you open up My Computer as explorer window, locate
the drive letter which represents the drive in question, rt-click on it
Properties > Autoplay, and see what boxes you've got chosen? Do you possibly have "Select an action to perform" checked, and "Take no action" selected?

When I go into Properties>Autoplay, I have 'Open folder to view files in
Windows Explorer' selected for each type of content - Music, Pictures, etc.

check out my problem (and fix) for a very similar problem I had. I don't
know if the same circumstances apply to you, but it's worth a try.

I'm not sure how to link the exact section here, but here is where it's at:
