well, it's difficult to tell if you're working with an Access report, since
part of your question was cut off. in future, recommend you type your
complete question in the textbox provided, rather than trying to put it all

assuming you have an Access report, open the report in design view, and
click once on the control that displays the "total sum", to select it. in
the Properties box, set the Format property to "Currency" from the droplist.
