When I go File > Get External Data > Import from within Access 2003 it only lists excel 2003 files, i.e. .xls. It doesn't list, or let me select Excel 2007, .xlsx, files which areon my PC and I need to use because of the volume of data.

Similarly when I try to Export from Access 2003 it won't let me save to ..xlsx files.

How can I make Access 2003 work with excel 2007 files?

TIA.

Chris.

Access 2003 cannot ever see an .xlsx file. You'll need to save those files
as the earlier format to use with earlier product versions. There is a
conversion program on Microsoft's site for a read-only conversion for those
who do no have Office 2007.

Thanks Arvin.

Guess I'll have to continue saving them as .csv and Importing those to
Access, and the reversing the process to save them.

I can't use E2003 as the files are too big and exceed the limits.

Applications rarely are forward compatible, and A2003 is not an
exception.
Use an XLS file instead.
