When I boot my computer I want it to open without showing a login screen. I
have a separate admin account for me and a user account for my family. I do
not want to have to choose an account.when the machine boots up. Is it
possible to have Windows default to the user account, and if so, how?

Start | Run, type "control userpasswords2" Start | Run, type
"control userpasswords2" Select the account you want to logon to
automatically. Then uncheck the box "Users must enter a user name
and password to use this computer."

Or do the same thing with TweakUI.

Tom;
Yes:
Start/Run
Type "control userpasswords2" ENTER
Uncheck "Users must enter..."
Follow prompts.

Tom, you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

ok this works fine and dandy when I first turn the computer on, but when
resuming from standby it doesn't bypass the logon screen. I'm guessing
switching to the old logon style where the username and password get typed in
is going to be the way to go about doing this. That way the other usernames
wont cause any confusion...

Change the settings from Control Panel | Power Options to not require a
password when resuming from standby.
