I am curently in the process of re-working/developing a database that was
made in ms-Works how ever I strongly belive that Works dosn't and ms-Access
is a better tool/database (Am I right?).

The problem is that although they are made by the same company ie Microsoft,
Access cannot read Works files (wbd). Why is this? And can you inport the
blasted file into Access with out the need to load up Works and re save it as
a Dbase III or IV!!! (Why Acces can read from a diferent companys file but
not it's own amazes me!).

Oh, I'm not confident in programing so could you make the anwser as easy as
pos please?

Is their a difference to creating a database for one user (single PC) and
multiple users (no more then 6 PC's)? Thankyou for your help.

Yes, Access is far more powerful than Works.

None of us can understand why there's no interoperability between Works and
Access. We've just learned to accept it. You must export from Works to some
other format, and then you can import it into Access. (I've heard that Excel
can often open Works, though: try that before you bother reinstalling Works)

No real differences because of having more than one user. One thing you
definitely want to do, though, is split the database into a front-end
(containing the queries, forms, reports, macros and modules) and a back-end
(containing just the tables). The back-end goes on the server. Each user
should have his/her own copy of the front-end, installed on their hard
drive.
