I have a desktop in the basement, linksys router, and laptop upstairs.

I have some folders where I allow networking so say on my laptop I can
access some files from my desktop.

Is there any way I can, from my laptop, access a file from my desktop and
have it run ON MY DESKTOP.

If the desktop PC is running XP Pro or MCE look at Remote Desktop.
Otherwise, if the desktop is running XP Home edition, UltraVNC may do what
you want...

Hi
You can configure the File sharing on both computers, and then map the
Drive, OR AND, Folders.
The mapped Drive/Folder would appear on the laptop has a regular resource to
be opened, and you can open files from one computer to the other.
