How can I do a selective backup in VISTA?

I have all of my work related files in 'My Documents'. There are many many
different file types. I don't want a 40GB backup of the entire drive, just
the one folder location. I've been doing this kind of backup for years in XP
and 2000 and knowing I have the security of all my work files backed up on
one of our servers.

While not as fine grain as I would like, the Vista backup (Vista Home
Premium) allows selection from several categories of files.

Pictures
Music
Videos
E-Mail
Documents
TV Shows
Compressed Files
Additional Files

If you select 'Documents' the backup will select all documents that you have
access to, not just those in 'My Documents', and if you have non-document
files in' My Documents' they will not be backed up.

Not nearly as good as my previous 'Backup MyPC', but that program is no
longer compatible with Vista.

I just tried to backup my files from Vista. The onld "NtBackup" from
WindowsXP Pro would let you backup selectively and resoter selectively. I was
shocked that Now that I am on Vista I can't selectively restore the 5 years
of data that I have backedup using "NTbackup."

I also wasnt thrilled that Vista's backup wants to backup 20GB of programs
files and other stuff withour giving me a choice.

Yep - After I poseted this I found the page for NTbackup and Restore. Now I
can restore. While I have to play some more with Vista's backup, so far it
look like NT's was better. I hope that I can located some of the same
features.
