How can i detect my sound card?

I had windows 2000 as an OS system, and the audio was working perfectly, but as soon as I installed windows Xp as an OS, the sound is gone. I tried to identify my sound card but i dont know how, so that i can download the driver! because apparently I have no drivers. How can I solve this problem?

I know there's prolly a simpler answer, but download Freshdevices' Fresh
Diagnose & that'll give you diagnostics on pretty much everything installed
on your pc that it can find. FreshUA is cool, too. Has system tweaks on it.
(I like all Fresh Devices' programs).

Uhh--AFA the easy answer, try control panel, performance/maintenence,
system, hardware, device manager, "sound,video,& game controllers" & expand
that, & that may help a bit.
 
You can also go to Belarc.com and download that program. It will give you a
complete listing of all software/hardware that is on you pc.
