Does anyone know of way to accomplish the task or are there any third party
software packages that accomplish the task?

What do you want to turn it into? Which version of PowerPoint are you talking
about?

Hi,
With www.take-off.as/datapoint you can connect your presentation to excel,
text file or a database. Then you can insert a linked picture and connect
the source of it to the data connection.
Then you have to activate datapoint's data scrolling functionality to scroll
thru your picture list. This allows you to display picture 1 for a few
seconds, then picture 2 and so on.

Can you elaborate?

Do you want to export slides from PPT to PNG or the like?

Try File, Save As and choose PNG (or whichever of the other formats you prefer)
as the Save As Type and you're on your way.
