Gary, we just bought a notebook with Vista. I use XP on a desktop and I use
Live mail desktop. Vista mail looks quite similar. I did some searching on
Microsoft and found this page:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/00e419ef-fee2-472c-ad02-b14331571a521033.mspx

IT says, "Note: Windows Mail has been upgraded to Windows Live Mail, which
includes the ability to automatically configure itself to work with many
popular e‑mail services. To download Windows Live Mail, go to the Windows
Live Mail website. For more information, see So long Outlook Express!
Introducing Windows Live Mail."

So, is Microsoft telling us that we should NOT use Windows Mail and contacts
that come with Vista but rather upgrade to Windows Live Mail? Why not just
put out an SP for Vista with this included?

In essence, Microsoft is gently steering Windows Mail users to Windows
Live Mail (WLM). Since Windows Mail is still on millions of original
Vista disks, MS cannot badmouth Windows Mail without losing face.

I was hoping that the imminent release of SP1 for Vista would include WLM,
but alas, that is not to be. I think MS learned from the overly hasty release of
Windows Mail, and they want to wring all the bugs out of WLM before pushing
it out to everyone.
