At work , I currently use a DOS based program
called 'TELNET'. It is the booking/billing system for our
Accommodation services.

However, I have a Compaq Presario Laptop linked to the
Network, and although I am able to use the program
entirely, it does not respond to the F3 key being
pressed. The F3 key would normally bring up a window
inside the program, allowing me to search for certain
items.

The F3 key works on all othe networking computers in the
office, except mine. Is there something I have to
enable/disable?

Help would be much appreciated.

If you have an Office keyboard, press the F-Lock key before pressing F3.
Logitech has a keyboard with a similar feature - two sets of commands
assigned to the F-keys - but I don't know what they call their toggle
key.

Telnet is a terminal-emulation program. Sometimes, you have to go into
telnet setup and re-map the keys to match what they should be on the
terminal.
