Hi,
Not sure if this is the right group, but i've searched google to no avail.
the situation i've been placed in is as follows.
A reasonably large (150 room) hotel are looking into the possibility of
implementing an internet solution. I've been asked to look at the software
implications.
When a user connects their laptop to the network, an IP will be issued via
DHCP. Got that far. When they open internet explorer, the server needs to
check if they have purchased internet access, and if so, allow them to go to
any URL (and redirect to a portal page for the home page). If they haven't,
they need to be shown a page explaining how to add internet access to their
bill...
So at the moment (at least) I just need to know how to implement that walled
garden effect, how to just display that one page unless a database match
allows them to use the internet
Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is phrased badly - i've spent the last
hour or so searching google.
Also, can I add that there is an existing network infrastructure in place.
Software is currently Windows 2003 with one PDC.
Thanks again
Alex
