set up yourself a linux server and configure BIND to be a caching DNS.

LOL, or stay with Windows2000/XT and use TreeWalkDNS caching DNS
that has a number of tweaks not found in BIND.

You may also find mileage with Axn's just released ConFetch v5 and
earlier versions for different environments.
(developed with the help of some of the regulars in the TreeWalkDNS
forums) which allow you to download and combine filters from
various sources to use with TreeWalkDNS.

Hint!
"We'll download 6 files: 4 HOSTS, 1 AdBlocker, 1 Bogon IPs List.

Downloaded a HOSTS file from MVPS HOSTS.
Downloaded a HOSTS file from Mike's Ad Blocking HOSTS file.
Downloaded a HOSTS file from Dan Pollock's site.
Downloaded a HOSTS file from hpGuru's site."

"It's up to folks to decide which version to run (CF3, CF4 or CF5),
depending on what they need for a blocklist and what they can live
with for the environment it's installed to!"
