Hosting my own page?

I would like to host my own web page but I do not have a static IP. I seem
to recall a free service on the net that beat this problem.

Any help is appreciated,

Having said that, I'm not clear what you are trying to achieve. Perhaps
you could be more specific. You can set up websites without the use of
IPs - either free or paid. Dynamic websites are more problematical, and
are less catered-for. You /could/ set up a webserver in your bedroom,
but it'll be noisy, and you have to factor in the cost of electricity in
running it. Looking at Lycos VDS for example:
http://webhosting.lycos.co.uk/expert/
costs £6.99pm + VAT for a "virtual" server on Lycos. You get a static IP
address with that. If you were to set up a webserver in your bedroom,
then you probably wouldn't see much change out of £6.99+VAT for
electricity running costs anyway.

BTW, I use Lycos VDS to host my site:

Although the website is serving content statically, it is updated every
night by some scripts - which perforce require me to use a proper server.

Here is my info, links are like us, they die. If any of these links are
dead or are no longer freeware, at least you have the name of the
program which you put into a search engine like Google & maybe you can
let me know the latest info.
I am not recommending anything, my list gives you a starting point to
find something to suit your operating system ( most people do not even
mention it ) & skill level. What will work on my computer, may not be
happy on yours. What I can understand, re how to install & run, may not
apply to you.
