I just upgrade to xp, now I want to set my xp machine up as the host
computer. It appears to accept it (although I really don't know if it is or
not) but then when I go through the network wizard it says this machine is
not capable of being the host computer.

Any suggestions?

Host for what?

Host so I can then setup a network. This PC is XP and the other is '98.
Any suggestions?

You don't need anything to be a host to set up a network between 2 PCs. Just
run the network wizard on the XP machine and when it's done it will offer to
let you create a setup floppy to run on your other computer. That will
adjust the settings on the other machine so they can see each other. Then
just make sure you're sharing something, if that's what you want to do.

thanks for that information - wow as simple as that!
I have read everything and nothing I read mentioned these steps.

One problem, everything seemed to work fine. Created the disk, loaded that
onto the second computer but I can not see either computer on the other one.
I double clicked on "view workgroup computers" and I received an error
message stating "Home is not accessible. You may not have permission to use
this network resources"............."List of servers for this workgroup is
not currently available."

Help - Please!
