Hi,
I have just set up my home network and am having difficulty in getting the
computers to talk to one another. When I click on My Network Places I can
drill down to Workgroup. When I try to open Workgroup i get an error message
"Workgroup not accessible. May not have permission. Contact administrator.
The list of servers on this work group is not currently available.
I am logged on as Administrator.
Also if I click on My Network Places I am able to map a network drive from
my second computer.
Finally when using my second computer, it will not recognise my main
computer at all?
Sorry for the length og the question but I'm getting nowhere fast and any
assistance would be gratefully received.
Many thanks

Hi Sandy,

There are several possible causes for your problem. One of the most common
would be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other security
component. There are several other possibilities too. Read this article with an
open mind.

Let's diagnose the problem a bit - start with "browstat status" and "ipconfig
/all" from each computer. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):
