My wife had windows 98SE installed a long time ago. But
recently she found that she had picked up several virus's.
She reformated the hard drive and reinstalled Windows
98SE. We believed that the various virus's came from the
Internet so when she reinstalled Windows 98 she did not
access the Internet. A few days later she bought Windows
XP Pro and installed it. Every thing seemed OK. Now one
of the virus indicators was that she always had a
Microsoft address for a home page, even when she changed
the URL in the Tools/Options choice, but still the first
URL would be a Microsoft page as Homepage. This happened
with Windows 98SE and is now happening again with Windows
XP. Two questions. Why is this happening and how does one
correct this problem?
