Homepage wont save??

I am not sure why this happens, but I try to set my
homepage and save it under internet options... but when I
close the browser and re-open it, a different homepage is
set... which is a spam site with a bazillion pop-ups.

Is this a virus? How do I fix it?

Adaware?
Check for updates after downloading, then
run it, remove all red items.
