home page problem; access to Adware,CWShredder blocked

I'm experiencing problems with home page defaulting to
some advertising site. Earlier responses to similar
problem suggested Adware (@www.lavasoftusa.com) and
CWShredder (@www.spywareinfo.com). When I try to go to
either of these sites I cannot access them. Get "this
page cannot be displayed message". I assume the virus I
have is also blocking access to the locations where I can
get help eliminating them. Any thoughts on how to get to
where the help is? Thank you for your help.
 
in ie,tools,options,advanced, disable 3rd party browser
extensions,apply.
or download mozilla.org "firefox" as a browser to
download spybot or ad-aware to see if it is just another ie
hijack.
