When I click on Internet Explorer on my desktop a pop up window comes up that
shows i'm connecting via my isp. then, i am connected but the home page does
not load, instead it says the page is not available. it used to load without
problem. if i click on refresh it loads. it used to load upon connection but
now doesn't. it's as if it is trying to load the home page before i'm
connected. i contacted my isp and reset/deleted everything and they said too
that for some reason internet explorer is trying to load my home page before
i'm connected. what do you suggest? ( if i click on my isp's desktop icon
and wait until it loads and then click on my internet explorer icon, it
loads).

I posted this exact problem a few days ago and was advised to download
update and run adawars, spybot, cwshredder, lspfix, etc. etc. yadda yadda
yadda it still doesn't load. Next Idea???

I've noticed the same problem, but only after I loaded SP2. My PC is free
from viruses and spyware, I think that there may me sight bug in the SP2
software. When I uninstalled SP the problem cleared up for most pages that I
couldn't access before but the problem still exist, to a lesser extent.

even though i think homepages are a waste of band width. i
usually click the internet connection icon which connects
(it doen't launch the browser, in case yours is setup to do
that). then i open up my browser and then go to one of many
bookmarked pages with never a problem.
