Hello

I am trying to set up a network between 2 pcs, via a router cable The host
pc keeps saying other computers cannot network with it. I've done all kinds
of troubleshooting, unchecked the 1900 2369 (or whatever numbers they are),
but it still wont work. Any suggestions please.

Make sure you use the correct type of cable. Crossover is used from pc to pc
and staight through is used from pc to router. The difference is the way they
are pinned out.

Thanks Brian,

Im really a novice, I don't know what kind of cable it is, it just goes from
my adsl modem, which is connected to the host pc, and then into my laptop.
The laptop says, the bridge connection is working and the LAN is connected.
It also says its running at 100meg, but there is no connection to the host or
the net.

Sorry, not very specific

Unless you have a combination modem/router, you do not have a router.
Buy a router - one of the name brands like Linksys, D-Link, Belkin,
etc. - and set up your network that way. Here is a link to a Linksys
site which has lots of easy information on networking for consumers.
You don't have to buy Linksys equipment, of course.
