home network

having trouble setting up network, have wireless laptop and a desktop both
connected but cant get network created , want to share printers etc. I'm new
at this so any help would be greatly apprieciated. getting message network
cable is unplugged on my laptop but not on my desktop for local area
connection, tried using network setup wizard, getting very frustrated, HELP

Usually problems with creating a home network are caused by a
misconfigured firewall. Here is an excellent network troubleshooter by
MVP Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it and it will
pinpoint the problem area(s):
