formatted c:\ and renistalled xp pro with no problems and now no
matter what I do I can't get my upstairs and downstairs computers to
share files. I used the microsoft wizard and it show both upstairs
and downstairs computers but no no drives to allow transfer of files.
Does anyone have an idea what am I missing to allow file sharing to
show the drives of the opposite computer.
 
make sure you have NetBIOS browsing enabled, turn off any
firewalls you may have running to see if that may also be
the cause of the problem.

To set-up NetBIOS open your Help and Support Center, type
in "netbios" and open the article "Configure TCP/IP to
use WINS"
