Home network - sharing printer problems

The network and file sharing between my PC and laptop are working OK.
However, I am having difficulty with printer sharing can't seem to get it
going. Anyone help?

How are you setting it up, and what happens when you try?
 
Well, this is my problem. I setup the networking using the Windows Network
Set up Wizard, the file sharing worked OK, but when I started with printer
sharing - to be perfectly honest - confusion reigned. I couldn't figure out,
what the printer name should be and probably messed up from that point!

OK, Step 1. have you shared the printer on the machine it is attached
to? Go to Start-Printers and faxes, right-click on the Printer icon and
select "Sharing". That will also tell you the printer name.
Step 2. On the machine that has NOT got the printer, go to
Start-Printers and faxes-Add printer. select network printer. then ask
it to search for network printers. there should only be one. Select that
one and follow the instructions.
