Hi everyone,

I have a little problem, I have two computers with XP Pro SP2 they are
getting the IP via DHCP, they can ping one to the other, they are in the
same workgroup, the problem is when I go to windows explorer and try to
access the computer to see its shares, it gives me an error "access denied"
but the estrange thing is when I map a network drive it works fine and I can
access the files without problem.

Any idea with the problem?

Regards,

Alex

Start -- Run -- \\computername (computername being the computer you are
trying to access)
Does that work or do you get an error connecting also?

I also get the error, but if I try to access this way
\\computername\ShareName it works fine... slow, but works fine..

Alex,

It seems that you and I get the same problem.

So, if you could fix it, please let me know here.

Likewise, if I could fix it, I'll let you know here as well.
