I don't believe it, I typed all this out and then lost it, well here goes
again.
I have 2 computers networked using the standard Microsoft utility.
Computer 1 connects to the net via Computer 2 which connects via a 56k dial
up modem
Computer 1 is a has Windows 98se and Windows XP(home) as its operating
systems.
It has Firefox and Internet Explorer as its browsers.
The problem is that Internet Explorer will not connect to the internet unde
XP, it addresses 192.168.0.1 when attempting to connect instead of the
appropriate url.
Firefox connects ok under both operating systems and Internet Explorer works
fine under 98se.
I guess this would not be much of a problem if it wasn't for the fact that
I can't connect to the Windows Update site to update XP.
Computer 2 works ok with both browsers.
What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
regards,
ken
