Home network password problems w/ XP and 98

Had network with router working fine between two desktops
running 98. Added a laptop with XP Pro. The laptop can
access the desktops no problem but when the desktops try
to access the laptop, get a message looking for a network
password.
How to overcome this and allow desktops to access
laptop?? Is it an XP issue? or a router issue?
Yes file sharing is enabled on laptop....

Having a same issue with an ME and Windows XP Pro

network. All of a sudden started asking for passwords to
access printer and files when accessing from ME machine to
XP machine. Looking forward to a response. I've searched
the knowledge base, can't find anything.
