I have two computers and a printer server all hard wired (with all IP's
specified) to a (wireless) router (wireless not used yet) DHCP on with auto
address for the connection between my router and my ISP. Everything works
fine when I intially boot up HOWEVER after some period of time IExplorer on
at least one of the computers will not talk to my ISP - i.e. typing in a new
address times out with no response back. This happens even if only one
computer is running. Outlook Express always continues to work now that it
connects to a specific ISP IP so the basic broadband link obviusly exists.
One article suggested that my encryption had to be set to other than WPA for
a Windows XP bug to be resolved. This fix doesn't seem to work on the
assumption that I've done this correctly. My router is a Netgear WGU 6214.
I am not sure but it is possible the problem might only be affecting one
computer (sharing not selected?) and not the other computer (sharing
selected?) Any ideas to solve this extremely frustrating problem.

Trevor,

what sharing is selected?

You can also check http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm for solutions.
