Home Netowrk - One works; the other doesn't

Hi,

I recently tried to set up a small home network for a friend of mine. She
has a wireless router with a desktop hardwired to it and a laptop accessing
it wirelessly. I used the MS wizard to set up the workgroup so that the 2
computers could see each other. I ran the wizard first on the laptop, then
saved it to a diskette and re-ran it on the desktop.

Both computers are working just fine and can access the internet with no
trouble. However, although I was able to "share" the laptop's drive on the
network so that the desktop can see it, I can't seem to make it work the
other way around. I've tried re-running the wizard a couple of times and have
repeated the steps, but I just can't seem to get it. What could I be doing
wrong?

Any more information that is needed, I'll be happy to supply. Thanks in
advance for any help on this matter.

Regards,

If it fully works one way but not the other, it is likely a firewall --
probably on the desktop. Turning the Windoes firewall off should be
enough, but other firewalls may need to be completely uninstalled.

Hi Bob,

I'm not sure if that's it because the same firewall is installed on both.
But I will try it anyway just to see if it has any effect. Thank you for your
response.
