Why does it take so long? I have 256mb RAM! It's still installing at 2-1/2 hours. Says 23 minutes
left. Right.

Sounds like you have other issues.. Something wrong with your CD, CD Drive,
Hard Drive, RAM, incorrect setting in the BIOS, perhaps the secondary cache
is turned off or you have trouble with a IDE/SATA interface on your
motherboard.. I can do a full install of Windows XP Professional, 4
different Internet Plugins, Office 2003 and a whole bunch of extras in less
than 1.5 hours, consistently, on computers ranging from PIII 600MHz and up..

I would look into the hardware issues I mentioned above.

Yea, after 8 hours there's a blue screen. I rebooted but it looks like it's trying to reinstall
again. This is a HyperData 8500 Laptop that had slowed to a crawl. Tried cleaning it up but was
still slow so tried a reinstall. Obviously it's not a software issue. Thanks for your help.

And are you going to let us into the secret of what's on this "blue screen"?

Nope cause I'm not gonna go through the whole process again! I can't remember exactly but I think
there was a KERNEL problem noted at the beginning and a physical memory dump at the end. Sorry if
I'm not more explicit.

Let's see you didn't bother to note it, so you expect us to GUESS?! Sorry,
but if you want help you're going to have to tell us the explicit error.
