Hi all, I need a very simple program to clean out my Cache and Registries to
speed up my PC... I'm running XPhome w/ sp3... I tried using REGEDIT and I
made some boo boos... Thanks...

Hi, Hogg:

1. Never enter the registry without having a complete understanding of
exactly what you're doing.

2. Never use "registry cleaners". Auslogics
(http://www.auslogics.com/en/software) has two free pieces of software that
are safe to use to defrag your registry and disk.

Boo boo? Whatever does that mean, I can only guess. If you did not back up
your registry before fooling around with it, then whatever you did is
permanent. Only a reinstall of your OS will bring the registry back to its
pristine (?) condition.

I'm sure others will have a lot more to say to you.

CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) will clean up cache as other junk.
Simple XP cleanup will do cleanup too.
Leave the registry alone.

You should a least set a restore point before attempting this, and if the
machine won't boot, F8 and restore to last good config will usually work.
