Does anyone know what this means

could not open key

HKEY-LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run

The registry hive "HKEY-LOCAL_MACHINE" does not exist. If that
message refers to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
instead, you've lost the permissions. This is usually caused by
malware, executed with administrative(!) privileges.
