hkcmd.exe problem after sp2

I just upgraded XP Pro sp1 to sp2. Since then two of three accounts on this
pc get an hkcmd.exe error immediately after logging on. It looks like it
might be related to control panel's Intel Graphics tool and its hot keys.
That tool won't run on either of those two accounts. SysInternals AutoRuns
tool reports hkcmd is run at startup. Is this a known problem and is there a
solution?

thanks

What is hkcmd.exe? Is hkcmd.exe spyware or a virus?

I'm not sure what to make of that web site. It looks like an opinion poll to
me and not a solution. I tend to agree its Intel's hot key something.

Only happened on one of our pcs on our network but got rid of it by updating
the adapter driver (through display, settings, advanced, adapter, update
driver).
Hope this helps.

I'll give that a try. I came to the conclusion it might be a video driver
problem but hadn't gone through the hassle of looking for and downloading an
updated one. I never thought to use the "update" feature.

Updating the Intell Graphics Controller fixed the hkcmd.exe error and added
some cool new monitor setting tools!
