Probably no the right place to ask, but are there any free hit counters for
websites that remain hidden to people visiting the site?

TIA

I use statcounter, but I think if you have it invisible that affects
ranking especially in google. I still haven't got a ranking and I've
been up for almost a year. I have pages that are ranked up to 6 linking
to me but google refuses to pr me. GRRR

Oh well heres a link for you

Some people don't link it, but I have no probs, you just have to look
in the visitor paths section after youv'e had over 100 people visit. It
updates daily.

I use statcounter as well for my blog since the traffic is low. it only
tracks the last 100 hits, so if you are high traffic (which my blog is
not :-)) you will need something else. It has an invisible option.

If you have php or asp it's simple to put a number in a text file and
increment it each time your page is hit. Nothing shows on the page.
