Suppose you have a hit counter on the page and you want to edit the page. Does the Hit counter reset to zero after you reupload the page to make changes to it?

Hi Sam,

No provided that you do not publish the pagename.htm.cnt file found in the
_private directory of the web you're publishing.

Let me rephrase because I think you misunderstood me. You say don't publish the pagename.htm.cnt file. Why?

What I'm tring to say if I edit the page and reupload the page the my web server, will the counter reset to zero or will I have to reset the counter manually? If you say do not publish the pagename.html.cnt file, how do I reset the counter or does it do it when I make changes to the page that my counter is on

Please rephrase and reply back.

If you *don't* set the pagename.html.cnt file to *not* publish, it will over
ride the server version and reset it to zero.
