Hissing sound problem

I have a problem which is quite annoying. Most of the time when i start my
computer the right speaker hisses, when i restart my computer it usually
stops, or i just keep restarting until it does stop.

Help??
 
Have you checked the manufacturer's site (sound card, or
motherboard if the sound card is integrated) for a newer
driver ?

Have you tried a different set of speakers ?

Have you tried unplugging and then replugging the wire
from the computer to the speakers ?

Have you tried reversing the left/right speaker leads to
see if the problem is speaker-based or sound card-based ?

Look for a clue.
