My opening page was hihacked several weeks ago by
about:blank. It also disabled Norton and contained a
large ad that remained on screen even after closing my
brouser. I was finally able to delete the hijacker using
pccillin, adaware6 and spybots. During the delete process
of the large ad I apparently deleted something I should
not have or I have a remnant of the hijacker still in my
system When I reboot I get an error message that says it
can't find C:/windows/system32/services/wmplayer.exe.
Does anyone know if this is a remnant or, if I have
deleted something in eror, how do I get it back?

If you've quoted the error correctly, you don't want that back. There
is no such folder installed in XP. Open the configuration editor and
remove the startup item that's calling it.

From run: type in "msconfig.exe" (no quotes). When the configuration
editor opens, click on the Startup tab. Find the line that's calling
the error and uncheck it. OK out and reboot.

By the way, wmplayer.exe is the Windows Media Player but it is not
located or called from that folder. It should be located in:

C:\program files\windows media player\wmplayer.exe
