I am interested in the responses you might receive as I would like to have
that feature too. As an alternative, you might use my system. I use the
symbols !, @, #, $, or % in front of the file name of the important/most
used file, so it will stay at the top of the others. The symbols will appear
at the top in the order that they appear in the last sentence. (Example ...
!myfile.doc would appear before @myfile.doc, etc.).

Regards...

Exactly, I use just 1 or 2 in the beginning of a file name to have it
faster at my fingertips. But, I think the OP is looking for a Google
type search program.
(He likes hi-lighting, which I like on Page source > Edit > Find.

XYplorer has a wildcard-configurable color filter. See the list in this
screenshot:

You can, of course, abuse it and state a specific filename as wildcard
pattern, so that only this single file is highlighted with a color of your
choice. Not a bad idea, infact... :)

Try it: http://www.xyplorer.com

How do you choose between TrackerV3 and XYplorer?

You don't. Tracker V3 has been renamed to XYplorer.
