I'm currently having XP Pro running on my laptop (3yrs old) and there is this
message shown when I am trying to use my 80GB Seagate external HDD:

high-speed device working on non- high speed controller -- May not work
properly

Could anyone please advise what can I do in order to make the HDD work with
my laptop?

Many thanks.

sounds like you need a pcmcia usb 2 countroler card which will provided the
necessary bandwidth for your system to access your external high speed (usb
2.0?) device.

Contact me if you would like to purcahse one.

ya, that's what most ppl thought too... but it just couldn't work though the
Windows did detect the hard disk..

has the drive been used before?
Did this just occurr or always been this way?
does it work on another computer?
