hiding the favorites list

Hello. New to this newsgroup so bear with me. This is a quick question
regarding the "Favorites" list on the left of the screen. How can this be
hidden when the webapp opens and return when the webapp closes?

If you mean the Favorites provided by the browser, a web app has no control
over it. Neither it does over any other browser features.
