I need to create a shared folder on a Windows 2000 Server
that is not running Active Directories. It is a member
server of a NT domain. I would like to hide the folder
from the network view. I believe that NT had a convention
where you would precede the folder name with a $ in order
to mask it from view. I tried that, and the folder still
shows.
Any advice is appreciated!

Dave

Append the $ instead.

Thanks! I was almost sure it was a $, but it has been so
long that I thought it was preceded, not appended. Worked
great!

Glad to hear it. You're welcome.
