i want to hide the question box , but i dont know how to do that , in the
instraction it says Show or hide the Type a question for help box
On the Tools menu, click Customize.
On the menu bar, right-click the Type a question for help box.
Select or deselect Show Ask A Question Box to show or hide it.
Note If you are hiding the Type a question for help box, it will still
display until after you close the Customize dialog box.

but in my database i cannt do that i dont know why , i cannt see these
steps, my office is 2003 so plz help me

Try those steps again.

Just right click the menu bar where the type a question is ( a good place to
right click is a bit left of the type a question box).

Now select customize from the options.

now, simply right click ON THE type a question box...

You will see a selectable check box that you can un-check..and it will hide
the box...

Note that it is possible that you have some startup options setup in your
database.

So, make sure you hold down the shift key during startup.

If the above still does not work, then try the following:

try the shift key startup....

Then right click..customize. In the "toolbars" tab, select the one called
"menu bar"...and then hit the properties button. It is very possible that
the allow customizations for that menu was turned off by you!....

You can also select the "menu bar" and then hit the re-set button...(this
should let you do the above first set of steps).

So, if you do not get the "customize" on the first try/set of steps..then
customizing for that menu bar have been turned off...

I am trying to do the same thing with no such luck, working in Access 2003

I have done all the steps you listed below with no luck. I cannot find the
checkbox that turns off the "type a question box".

When I start Access I am using the shift key start-up, and I have restored
all defaults on the menu/toolbars.

When I click to the left of the question box, it open a box showing
"Database", "Task Pane", "Web", "Customize..."

I click on Customize and it open a box showing tabs with "Toolbars",
"Commands", and "Options".

I click on the "Toolbar" tab, then highlight the checked "Menu Bar" line,
then click on propeties for this menu bar, and make sure that the following
are checked: "Allow Customizing", "Allow Resizing", "Allow Moving", and
"Allow Showong/Hiding" (Docking is set at allow any and the slected toolbat
is "Menu Bar").

I then click on the "Options" tab and the following items are checked:
"Show Menusa after a Short Delay", "List Font Names in their Font", and "Show
Screen Tips on Toolbars"

Thank You.
