Hide innactive Icons/Customize Notifications

OK.... Need help...

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the 'Past Items' under 'Hide Innactive
Icons' (right click task bar/properties/hide innactive icons -
customize/scroll down).

Is this another example of a 'wood for the trees' type problem?

I have a similar question

Some items move quite often from Current to Past. How to I get them back
into Current, and ensure that they stay there?
 
I have a very strange problem. I have icons listed as "always show" and they
do not show up in the notification area...specifically the volume control and
the safely remove hardware icons. This only occurs on one profile on Windows
XP...all other profiles on the computer display these notifications. Running
these items does not cause the icons to appear either.

Any advice?

can anyone tell me how to remove this notification utility icon that
i couldn't remove in add/change program ,as the same time it will be
redirect to webpage?pls

Do a thorough check for malware in safe mode. Repost if you need more
information.

I mean run a variety of programs in safe mode to scan for viruses,
trojans, adware, spyware and other nasties. The term malware refers to
all these bad bugs. These scans should be run in safe mode. To enter
safe mode restart the computer, as the BIOS screen disappears repeatedly
tap the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears. Choose safe mode.
