How do you hide the contents on the Local Disk C drive? I needed to get a
file from there and want to hide them again. I clicked on Show the Contents
of this folder and there wasn't an option to rehide. I'm using WinXP Pro.

Thanks in advance.

Depends on what file you are in. When you first go into
the program files or windows folder you can get a warning
saying that the files are hidden and you need to "Show
the contents of this folder".

If you find that you want to hide a certain folder then
you can do as listed earlier. Right Click > Properties >
Hidden > Apply > Ok.

You may need to change your folder options as although
you can hide a file or folder this way they can still be
visible unless you select DO NOT SHOW hidden files and
folders. To do this go into My Computer > Tools > Folder
Options > View > Hidden Files and folders > Show or Do
not show....the choice is yours!

Open My Computer and open drive C. In System Tasks, click "Hide the
Contents of this Drive". Hope this helps.

DON'T DO THAT! Nik - Newtechie want's the screen saying "These Files
are Hidden" to come up when he/she opens drive C.

I think she means the screen that comes up when you first open drive C
that says These files are hidden: this folder contains files that keep
your system running properly. You should not modify its contents. To
show that again, under Related Tasks, click Hide these files and Folders.
