hide blank lines in a report

In the on print event of detail section of the report, I have cancel = true
when a certain criteria is met. But I see blank lines when I run the report
when ever the criteria is met. How to avoid printing these blank lines?
 
Try and choose the "can gow", "can shrink" properties on your report, change
it to true.
For the fields and for for the section.
