Windows can access hidden programs or files. Their being hidden does not

Can you hide a partition, yet it be seen by your PC?
I think the answer is yes.
But I get a problem.
I've got BootMagic installed on the first 50Mb of my HDD (N

. When I come
to alter settings, I access the program through going to Start>All
Programs>etc, as typical. I can see folders and files on N:
Okay in PartionMagic I hide N:. I boot the PC, I see the BootMagic menu,
choose the O.S. then it does it's stuff to hide N:, then reboots. But it
seems PartitionMagic then reverses the change and makes N: seeable
again. Because in MY Computer there is N: and it's the 50Mb partition.
I think normally BootMagic woulkd indeed hide a partition, but for some
reason not in this case. I don't know why. Any idea?
I wonder if Disk Management would do a better job. Perhaps I'll try that.
