I am using Outlook 2002 + SP 1

Twice today when I sent a single email message (where I initiated the email
and it was not a reply) the "Send-Receive Progress" window has said that I
am sending 2 messages. This makes me very uneasy that I may be sending out
messages unintentially. Please explain why this is happening and, if I am
sending out unknown messages, how to stop it.

This may or may not be related: Occasionally I get a notice that a message
that I did not knowingly send failed to be delivered. The addresses are
totally unknown to me. I regard these occurences as malicious.

Thank you.

Rachel

Clean your system of viruses and spyware. Your antivirus program should
remove viruses, if the definitions are up to date. Spyware? Download,
install, update and scan with Ad-aware SE Personal:

You're probably sending read-receipts for messages that you read which were
requesting read-receipts. To control how these are handled, go to Tools ->
Options -> Preferences -> E-mail Options -> Tracking Options...

You could call them malicious - they're because some spammers got your
email address and are now sending spam that says it's from you. You're
getting the non-delivery reports for all the addresses they're trying that
don't exist. They're not, however, accessing your computer or your email.
