I have a windows XP computer that seems to have a file on it does strange
things. It may be a virus or spyware not sure google search was no help.

I cleared the registry to stop the file from working all was ok but when I
went to delete the file I couldn't find it on my drive. I typed in the file
name in start\run and the process started up so the file must exist some
where, there was even a .pf file in the precache directory. I found a
process viewer applications that showed that the process was running and
that the file was systems32\mslti32.exe (I think that was what the file was
called). I looked for that file but found no file again. Is there any way a
file can be hidden, I have checked show hidden files in the folder options
of windows explorer so all files should show, is there a way that the name I
am being given is an alias to another file?

thanks in advance

Well the process viewer stated c:\windows\system32\mslti32.exe but the
mslti32.exe doesnt exist on the system anywhere. If I type mslti32 in run it
starts up so it must be in a folder thats part of the path enovironment
variable.

Is there a way that the mslti32 is an alias to another file?
